Doreen A. Pross

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Doreen A. Pross, age 66, of Millstone Road passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday evening December 18, 2023 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.
She was born on July 18, 1957 in Herkimer, a daughter to the late Richard and Lois Castleman Mayne. Doreen was raised and educated in Richfield Springs, graduating from Richfield Springs High School. On September 2, 1978 she married Robert Pross in the Presbyterian Church in Richfield Springs. She was a dedicated homemaker.
Doreen loved being with her husband, her girls and her grandkids, she enjoyed her pool, time spent on her boat and at camp, she loved to sew, as well as being in the sun and snowmobiling. She was a member of the Richfield Springs American Legion Post 616 Ladies Auxiliary and the Canadarago Sno Toppers.
She was a woman of a few words but we loved to listen to her giggle. She will be missed and we will forever hear her favorite saying "love you more"
She is survived by her husband of forty five years, Robert, two daughters; Heather Kovatchitch and her husband Stephen, Bobbie Lee Stephenson and her husband Matthew, her beloved grandchildren Robbie Kovatchitch, Logan Stephenson, and Paislee Stephenson, a brother Thomas Mayne and his wife Diane, 2 sisters-in-laws Rhonda Sanders and her husband Ken, Lee Pross-Smith, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Wayne Humphreys (Mayne).
Doreen's family will be present in the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, on Friday December 29th from 4:00 until 6:00pm to receive relatives and friends.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Doreen may be made in donations to the Richfield Springs Veterans Club, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
