Doreen Schoonmaker Obituary
Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Marion Schoonmaker. She leaves behind loved ones who care deeply about her.
Doreen dedicated over 30 years of service to Hewlett Packard, where, in her latter years, she worked as an administrative assistant. After that chapter of her career she worked at Becton Dickinson.
She lived in Union City, Bergenfield (graduating Bergenfield High School in 1965), and Hackensack before settling in Maywood.
She loved travel, photography, Star Trek, the Eagles (rock band), and the Yankees. She had fond memories of her last vacation in Hawaii.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to her dear friend, Aileen Kealy.
A memorial service to celebrate Doreen's life and memory will be held at a later date.

My long friendship with Doreen began as penpals through our mutual friend Aileen. We were fortunate enough to meet in NJ a couple of times and I realized that she and Aileen were as genuine in person as in their letters.
My heartfelt condolences to Aileen and all those who loved her. I will miss her dearly.

Very sad to hear of Doreen's passing. I had the privilege of working with her at HP in Paramus in the late 70's and early 80's. I carry many fond memories of her.

I worked with Doreen at HP in Paramus for many years. Whenever I walked past her desk, which was many times over the years, I´d stop and we´d chat. We always laughed. She will be sorely missed.
