Doris G. Adams, 98, died peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the James G. Johnson Nursing Home in Johnson City, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. F. Porter Adams, her sister, Betty Deinhardt Smith, and her brother, Raymond Gross. Cherished by her entire family, she is survived by her son, Dr. Paul S. Adams and daughter-in-law, Jean, of Blue Bell, PA; her daughter, Rev. Nancy J. Adams of Owego, NY; her granddaughters, Lindsay Adams Van Ostenbridge (Charles) of Wayne, PA, and Caroline Adams of Philadelphia, PA; and her great-grandsons, Jack Van Ostenbridge and Alex Van Ostenbridge.
Born in Maine, NY, she was a 1944 Binghamton North High School graduate. With her husband, they faithfully served United Methodist churches in Nimmonsburg, NY; Sayre, PA; Forty Fort, PA; Binghamton, NY; and Endicott, NY.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Hilltop 2W and JGJ for their compassionate care.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11 AM at the Fairview United Methodist Church, 254 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY, with the Rev. Lea Harding and Rev Jan Clark, officiating. Beginning at 10 AM, friends may greet the family before the service at the church.
