Doris Bertha May Allen, 92, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home in Rochester, MN.
Doris was born February 21, 1933, at home in New Haven Township, Minnesota to George and Lucy (Jackson) Curtis. After high school she went into Nursing. Doris loved caring for others as was evidenced by her 60+ years of Nursing, until her retirement in 2020 at the age of 87. In 1950, she married Duane Derby, they were later divorced. She married Lyle Albert Allen on January 5, 1967, in Aberdeen, S.D. They were married until his death on October 11, 2000.
Doris is survived by her four children, Christina Armstrong of Minnesota, Roger (Deb) Derby of Minnesota, Maynard (Jody) Derby of Florida, Dan (Dorothea) Allen of Minnesota; six step children, Bruce (Jeannine) Allen, Linda Connelly, Lyle Donald (Debbie) Allen, John (Carol) Allen, Kathy Bertelson, Roger (Pauline) Allen all of Minnesota, and one brother Glenn (Chick) Curtis of Arkansas, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
