Doris Jean Bare

Doris Jean Harne Bare, 79, of Thurmont, MD passed into the arms of the Lord at home, where
she was born and resided on October 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 29, 1946- Doris was the daughter of the late Lawrence G. Harne and Irene V.
Miller Harne. Doris Jean married Alton L. Bare Sr in November 1960, she was married to her
late husband Alton L. Bare Sr for 53 years. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings,
Billy Harne, Janice Willis, Leota Koontz, and Robert Harne.
Doris was a bail bondsman, homemaker, a wife, a loving mother, and nanny. Her kindness and
love was more than special. She taught us what love was, and how to be a fighter when we
needed it. Her strength and determination will be unmatched. Her heart so pure and true, she
made the world a better place. She enjoyed baking, visiting the beach, and Lancaster. Doris
Jean will be missed so deeply by the legacy she leaves behind.
Doris Jean is survived by her children, Tanya Bare (Donna), Estella Motley (Rick), Larry Bare
(Bunny), and Alton Bare (Tracey)
In addition, she is survived by ten grandchildren, Joshua Motley (Hillary), Rachel Workman
(Josh), Katelynne Bare, Jessica Cassidy (Chris), Felicia Bare, Allison Bare, Skylar Bare, Josie
Bare, Madison Bare, and Cory Bare
Doris also had many great-grandchildren, Madisyn Knoedler, Bryson Workman, Quintin
Cassidy, Hunter Ford, Joclyn Cassidy, Jaime Anderson, Riley Workman, Leila Anderson, Elli
Cassidy, Theo Motley, Liam Bare, Lincoln Cassidy, Tripp Brandenburg, Walker Orr, Emersyn
Bare, Ryker Orr, Zayden Jackson, Charleigh Bare, Walker Bare, and Koa Orr.
Doris also leaves behind Henry Patches, her loving dog.
A viewing will be held on Monday October 20th from 4-8pm at Morningstar Family Church, 14698 Albert Staub Rd. Thurmont, MD 21788. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday October 21st at the Morningstar Family
Church, with a 10am viewing and the service following promptly at 10:30 am. Doris's grandson
Rev. Joshua Motley will be officiating.
Doris's care has been entrusted to Black's Funeral Home of Sabillasville.
