Doris Bailey Barrett, age 90 (November 29, 1932), became dementia free and eternally healed in the fullness of her heavenly father's love March 20th, 2023, the first day of Spring! She was the last surviving sibling of children (Birdell, Ray, and Snookie Bailey, Lois Powell, and Teresa Coulliette) born to William G. and Edna Parrish Bailey of Altha, Florida. She was married for 68 years and survived by her husband, Max Barrett, age 93. They had one child, Wanda Barrett Yelvington (Mike), granddaughters Sarah Yelvington Adeshina (Will) and Heather Yelvington, and one great-granddaughter (Caro Jessamine Adeshina). She had many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that also survived her. She was a military wife and homemaker for over 25 years, and then a business owner of local Blountstown businesses, the Teen Scene and the Bargain Corner. She resided in Tallahassee and attended Woodrun Baptist Church. She was a woman of faith who whole-heartedly loved her Lord and Savior, family and friends. She lived a life of love and service. She loved antiquing, cooking (lemon pound cake was her ultimate comfort food), caregiving, shopping, singing, square dancing, and traveling.
Services to celebrate and honor Doris' life will be held at Woodrun Baptist Church, Tallahassee, FL, 10:00am visitation 11:00am service (eastern) officiated by Reverend Don Cable. Graveside committal will follow on Saturday in Mellow Valley Alabama, 2:00pm (central).
