Doris M. “Becky” Silance, 89, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on January 12, 1935, in Kewanna, Indiana, Becky is the daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtle (Shaw) Cook. On March 26, 1953, in Lucerne, Indiana, Becky married Darrell E. Silance who preceded in death on August 19, 2018.
Becky loved playing cards, Euchre, completing puzzle books, going on walks, camping at France Park and spending time with her dog Macy. She was a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church, where she’s held about every position except for a lay leader.
Surviving Becky is a son, Terry Silance of Irvine, CA; two daughters, Carole (John) Stumpf of Greenwood, IN, Nita (Mike) Emmerd of Logansport, IN; six grandchildren; two great grandchild; one great great grandchild; one brother, Tom Cook; two sisters, Lois Koffman of Logansport, IN, Patricia Grauel of Logansport, IN.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Cook and one Sister JoEllen Hempker
A celebration of life service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday, also in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pet’s R Us.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Miller’s Merry Manor and Guardian Angel Hospice for their compassionate care.
