Doris Jean "Dot" Belless of Montevallo, AL entered heaven's gates on March 9, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1939, to William Alonzo and Josephine Hope Beane.
Doris dedicated her life to serving others, working as a waitress and extending her kindness beyond the table to everyone she met. She found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved spoiling her beloved pups. Doris was a gifted artist, talented musician, and skilled writer, expressing her creativity in many ways.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Edward Belless; her daughter, Theresa (Tracy) Gail Brasher, Parents William Alonzo & Josephine Hope Beane, her grandson, Michael Edward Fallin; her brothers, Howard, Erskine, Daniel, James, John, and Samuel Beane; and her sisters, Clara Washburn, Louise Beane, & Ruth Chapman.
Doris leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her children. Cliff (Linda) Brasher, Deborah (Chris) Miller, Gidget (Bruce) Morrison, James (Dawn) Belless, Jeannie (Greg) Gardner, and Vicky (Clyde) Jones; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her daytime caregiver, Michelle Patterson.
Doris will be remembered for her warm heart, quick wit, creative spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Amazing Grace Church. A visitation will be held at 2 pm, followed by a service at 3 pm. She will be laid to rest in Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Brierfield, AL.
