Nathan Harris Wynne, 90, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, after a courageous 12-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on March 1, 1935, in Coldwater, Mississippi, Nathan was the son of the late Sterling Prichard Wynne and Marie Harris Wynne.
A proud graduate of Coldwater High School (Class of 1953) and Mississippi State University (Class of 1958), Nathan remained a passionate supporter of Mississippi State football throughout his life. His enthusiasm for the Bulldogs was matched only by his love for gardening, his devotion to his family, and his deep faith.
Nathan was a man of unwavering values, a sharp wit, and a joyful spirit. Even in the face of illness, he never lost his sense of humor, which brought comfort and laughter to those around him. His commitment to the church shaped the lives of his children, instilling in them a strong spiritual foundation that continues to guide them today.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Peggy Knipp Wynne, and their four children: Jeffery Nathan Wynne (Karen), Leah Marie Blackwood (Marty), Cheryl Ann Miller (Tripp), and William Sterling Wynne (Shay). Nathan was a devoted grandfather to six grandchildren-Garrett (Tess), Joshua, Ann Kathryn, Bill, Jacob, and Mitchell-and two great-grandchildren, Kalvin Blackwood and Emma Wynne. He also cherished his two step-grandchildren, Hannah and Griffin Mayhan. Sister, Ann Wynne Grantham, and many nephews and nieces.
A private memorial service will be held at the family home on August 9, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either:
