Doris A. Carpezzi, 89, of Estero, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Gulf Coast Medical Center following a brief illness. Born on September 5, 1935, in Yonkers, NY, Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (née Grim) Hoffarth. A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, she continued her education in secretarial school and went on to work as an executive secretary for the president of a New York advertising agency for four years. After the birth of her first child, Doris dedicated herself fully to her greatest calling-raising her four children. She was a devoted and loving mother not only to her own children, but to their friends as well, embracing all with warmth, care, and a listening ear. Doris and her husband began wintering in Estero 20 years ago and made it their permanent home in 2020, relocating from Waretown, NJ. She cherished her time with family and friends, and enjoyed reading, playing golf and tennis, and socializing. Those who knew her fondly recall her beauty-both inside and out-and admired her honesty and spirited personality. She was affectionately known by her friends as "St. Doris," for her kind heart and unwavering sincerity. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Leonard J. Carpezzi of Estero, FL; her sons, Leonard J. Carpezzi, Jr. (the late Nancy) of Daytona Beach, FL, Edward F. Carpezzi of Montvale, NJ, and R. Christopher Carpezzi of North Fort Myers, FL; and her daughter, Carolyn A. Carpezzi of Brick Township, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her cherished grandson, Robbie Carpezzi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33967. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden at Our Lady of Light. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Wildcat Run Country Club.
