Doris Mae "Maizie" Dickey, 88, left her earthly home to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ on August 5, 2025. She was a resident of Shepherd of the Valley, Liberty at the time of her departure.

Maizie was born on June 29, 1937, in Oil City, PA to the late Clair and Verna Davis Allison. She was a 1955 graduate of Sharpsville High School and in 1982, after raising her three children, graduated from the Mercer County Vocational School LPN program.

She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14 while attending a youth convention. Her passion in life was to love and tell others about Jesus. Maizie was the greatest role model for her family, exemplifying grace and forgiveness. She prayed daily for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom have accepted the Lord as Savior and are serving Him. Maizie was an active member of Family Life Church in Hermitage.

On June 2, 1956, she married "the boy down the street", James R. Dickey with whom she enjoyed 50 wonderful years before his death on October 6, 2006.

Maizie is survived by her three daughters, Deb (John) Grundy, Howland, OH, Donna (Keith) Woods, Hermitage, PA and Darlene (Kevin) Washington, Clark, PA. 7 grandchildren, Erin, Ben, Elissa, Allyson, Emily, Taylor and Noah and 16 great grandchildren. One sister, Betty Merchant, Hermitage, PA and Gale "Mort" Mortimer, Bonita Springs, FL, her loving companion. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Pagliaroli, a son-in-law Keith Woods, a brother-in-law, Joseph Pagliaroli and brother-in-law Frank Merchant.

Maizie's desire to be with her Savior and reunite with the love of her life has been fulfilled. She would want everyone to celebrate this fact.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.

There will be no calling hours or service. Only a private graveside service for immediate family.

In lieu of flowers Maizie requests memorial contributions be made to the Missions program of Family Life Church, 1455 N. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, PA.
