 Doris Dixon Dockery, age 87 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Winthrop Health & Rehabilitation.

 Doris was born on March 4, 1937 in La Fayette, GA, the daughter of the late Mark Young and Beulah Burchett Young. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her first husband, Lloyd Charles Dixon; second husband, Charley Dockery; two brothers, Thadd Young and Griff Young; and sister, Sue Bearden. Doris was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she also sung in the choir. She and her husband Lloyd owned and operated Tri-Angle Grocery and D&L Food Store. She enjoyed sewing and working in her flower garden. Doris loved her children and grandchildren.

 Doris is survived by: three daughters, Diane (Don) Garland, Sharon (Jimmy) Rogers, and Pam (Tim) Erwin; four grandchildren, Candi (Jason) Hawkins, Casey (Scott) Evans, Cameron (Josh) Howard, and Gabe (Madison) Erwin; five great-grandchildren, Bailey Hawkins, Noah Evans, Mercy Howard, Ellie Jo Erwin, and Darcee Erwin; two brothers, Mark Young, Jr. and Grady (Kaye) Young; and one sister, Evelyn (Paul) Warren.

 The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 1 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

 Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Muse and Reverend Brian Childs officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Gabe Erwin, Josh Howard, and nephews serving as pallbearers.

 Honorary Pallbearers are: the staff of Compassionate Companions: Rhonda Young, Dawn Jeffery, Sabrina Thomas, Caroline May, Sherry Yingling, Brittney Yingling, Teresa Phillips, and Debra Smith, Winthrop Health & Rehabilitation, and Affinis Hospice.
