Doris Elaine Drinkman passed into her Heavenly Father's arms on November 9, 2025. She was born to Ivan and Dorothy (Annis) McClelland on November 28, 1940 in Knapp, WI. She grew up in the Knapp area and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1958.
On December 20, 1958 she married the love of her life, James Herbert Drinkman at the Knapp Methodist Church. Together they raised a family while building a life of love, laughter and ministry in the area of Connorsville, WI.
Together, they went on several lay ministering trips with their church family and friends. First, at the Connorsville Methodist Church, then Living Word Chapel in Forest, WI and finally at Reeve Evangelical Free Church in Reeve, WI. She taught Sunday School for many years at Connorsville Methodist Church as well as taking an active role serving in the UMWC ladies aid group.
Doris and Jim witnessed to many people through their trail rides in the summer months and the snow tubing parties in the winter months. They selflessly opened their home to countless people. After being widowed in 2003, she continued in her women's ministry groups, volunteering with the White Cross, packing Christmas Shoeboxes, and serving wherever she saw there was a need. She was an active member of the Connorsville Chattering Chicks homemakers' group for many decades. She also continued to play as hard as she loved her entire life with snowmobiling, horseback riding, riding atv's, and traveling the country. She celebrated her 70th birthday by skydiving with her daughter Laura. In later years, she greatly enjoyed the ladies brunch crew and rarely missed a gathering with them.
A special thank you from the family to the ladies, who helped care for her in her final years. She also enjoyed many working missions trips helping impoverished communities. She will always be remembered for her sweet spirit, generous hospitality, smile that lit up a room, and infectious joy.
Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews. Her devotion to her family and extended family will always be cherished. Throughout her lifetime, even in times of trial, her steadfast faith in God never wavered. She wanted everyone to know and love her Jesus like she did.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Dorothy, her husband Jim, her siblings, Marlys, Alan, Philip, Gerald, & Phyllis.
She is survived by her children; Cynthia (James Bilderback) Drinkman, Laura Drinkman, Renee( Mark) Bartz, Michael (Amy) Drinkman, grandchildren; Jason Bartz, Justin (Shamaine) Bartz, Stewart (Emily) Bartz, Tessa (John Vo) Bartz, Emily (Luke) Witherby, Jarrit (Alicia) Drinkman, Sabrina (Ian) Bidwell & great grandchildren; Mila, Tristan, Wesley, Sadie, Silas and Ila as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Visitation will be on November 19, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 at Reeve Evangelical Church, with services to follow directly afterwards officiated by Pastor Todd Groat. A luncheon will be served after services by the Reeve ladies ministry.
The service will be livestreamed by the church and can be viewed at the following link:
