Albemarle, North Carolina - Doris Jean Taylor DeSoto Leopard O'Shields Dunn "McAlister"
Doris was born July 1, 1934, to Ruth and Claude Taylor in Charlotte. Doris was predeceased by her two brothers, Donald and Gordon. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Anne.
She is also survived by her only son, Rick and his wife, Vikki. She was blessed with three grandchildren and their wonderful spouses, Ricardo and Amanda, Starkey and Kate, and Christina and Shane. She also was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Noah, Davis, Preston, Elye, Liam, Logan, Savanah, and Vivianna.
It was with much happiness that she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at the age of 72 by the Rev. Mike Lawing.
Doris was a true West Side gal as she shopped at Park & Shop, her drug store was Bizzell's and she dined often at the Stockyard.
She is now having so much fun seeing old friends and relatives that have gone on to Heaven before her.
Doris had a private burial on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. We will have a Celebration on her 90th birthday sharing good times and memories.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Dunn family.

Doris and my mother Vernell worked together for years and Doris was our roommate for awhile as well. We had some great times and I always loved Doris. She was a great friend to Mom and I. Prayers going up for the family.

I was so sadden to have read this Obit in the paper. I worked with her at Crompton & Knowles till she retired. I also took several trips to Tunica with her and Harry. RIP My Friend
