Doris Marie Enghausen, 91, of Nevada passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Windsor Manor in Nevada.

Doris was born on March 15, 1934, to Andrew and Dora (Jessen) Christensen at Garwin, Iowa. She was an only child. She grew up in Garwin, was baptized at Garwin United Brethren Church and graduated from Garwin High School in 1952.

On March 8, 1953, she married Marion Carl Enghausen at Evangelical United Brethren Parsonage in Garwin, Iowa. They farmed in the Dows area until 1964 when they moved to a farm northeast of Nevada. In 1981 Marion passed away and Doris moved to Nevada where she worked at the ACSC office, Johnson Hardware and Nevada Community Schools in food service.

Doris was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, Iowa where she taught Sunday school, Bible school, was a member of the choir and crocheted many prayer shawls and baby blankets for the church. Doris loved to crochet, knit, sew, do embroidery, go for walks, garden and travel when she could. She enjoyed having her family nearby and enjoyed visits and artwork made by her 2 great grandsons.

Doris is survived by her daughter Lori (Alan) Sly of Hampton, Iowa; granddaughter Kayla (Michael) Norman and their 2 boys Kohen and Weston of Hansell, Iowa.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Marion in 1981 and her daughter, Linda in 2024.

A private family graveside service will be held at Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Doris will be laid to rest with her husband, Marion and her daughter, Linda.

Memorials my be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, Iowa.
