Doris Jean Hensley

Doris Jean Brooks Hensley, "Gangy", left this world for a new adventure on March 1, 2026. She was born on October 18, 1930 to the late Grant and Stella Wolfe Brooks of Farmington. Doris enjoyed many things, but most importantly she lived life to the fullest and by her own rules. She was a mom, aunt, sister, daughter and friend but her favorite roll was for those she held closest to her heart. Our Gangy, keeper of all our secrets, our number one confidant. If you knew her you loved her. You were always there for us, no matter what; with no judgement, just love. All grandmas are special but you were extraordinary like no other. From introducing us to Patsy Cline and Alan Jackson, our late night trips to Hardee's, teaching us to play cards and dice, and all the crazy fun in between. We will be forever grateful you were ours. So, hold us a place at the table and tell Alvin to have the 3 Musketeers waiting for us when we see you again.

Doris was proceeded in death by 1 son Fred Hensley, 6 siblings and their spouses Eugene Brooks & Gaylene, Dale Brooks & Wanda, Bill Brooks & Helen, Robert Brooks, Betty Lou Narog Hepler & Henry/John, Maxine McDonald & Claude and brother in law Paul Korsh and sister in law Pat Brooks. She is survived by one brother and one sister Jerry Brooks and Barbara Korsh, 3 daughters and 1 son. Diana Ash & Phil of Rivesville, Charlotte Long & Joe of Morgantown, Helen Ansel & Skipper of TX and Jerry Hensley & Mary Ann of Virginia; grandchildren, Jean Ann Hensley, Steve Ash & Stacy, DiDi Whipkey & Mike, Jo Carol Casey & Joe, Lori Long, MaryAnn Granberry & Eric, Ida Meyer & Christopher, Rhonda Ansel, Elizabeth Adams & Gregg, Carrie Lynn Pierce & Mac, Andy Long and Peggy Hensley; great grandchildren, Richie Cook, David Vincent, Elias Pollack, Marley Long, Aedan Gillen, Averi, Brady & Blake Adams, Jordan & Ashlee Casey, Seneca & Jordan Ash, Alexis & Caden Musgrove, Josh & Brayden Meyer, Denise Brown & Erik, Stone, Oakley & Dalton Pierce and Tina, Jessica and Jasmine Dickman; and great great grandchildren, Stella, Wrenleigh, Cambrie, Freya, Wally, Olivia, Donovan and Blakely.
