Wood River:
Doris Mae (Rigdon) Hood, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 17, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Alonzo and Beaula Rigdon. Survivors include a daughter: Michelle Hood of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, two grandchildren: Ashley (Josh Gibson) Hood, Kate (Antonio Lema) Lema - Baskin, a great granddaughter: Ava, one sister: Caroline, two brothers and sisters in law: Clarence and Judy Rigdon, Earl and Beth Rigdon, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Doris was formerly employed as a cook. She loved to cook, fish, hunt, play pool, playing the poker machines, animals, and planting flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Carshall, Leroy, Stanley, Jenny, Iona, and Debby.
A celebration of life will be held from 5pm to 6:30pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Whitelaw Avenue Baptist Church in Wood River with memorial services at 6:30pm.
