Funeral services for Doris Jean (Gustafson) Dulaney, age 94 of Austin, Texas, will be held on December 6, 2025 at 1:30 PM, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home, with Bro. Don DeLukie officiating. Interment will follow in the Dulaney Cemetery in Sikes, LA. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, and continue until time of service at 1:30 PM.
Doris was born September 7, 1931 in Ruston, Louisiana, and passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Beacon Hospice in Austin, Texas.
She was a graduate of Ruston High School, class of 1950. Doris worked at various jobs throughout her life including: Retail sales at Morgan and Lindsay, Baker's Shoe Store, House of 1776 and Sam's Club, secretary at Preston Road Church of Christ and receptionist at Pella Windows.
Doris taught multiple children's Bible classes, graded Bible correspondence courses, worked alongside her husband in the Golden 60's Ministry, and served in the roles of Deacon's and Minister's wife. She was a former member of the Church of Christ that meets at Village Christian Apartments in Austin, Texas. After moving to Rockdale, TX, where her daughter and son-in-law live, she attended, and placed membership, at Murray Street Church of Christ.
She enjoyed: Sewing, quilting, reading, gardening, bird watching, fishing, oil painting, ceramics, decorating cakes, and playing the card game: "Hand & Foot," where she earned the nickname: "WILD CARD ANNIE." Her most beloved pets were her cat Scamper, and dog Crissie.
Doris loved her family, and especially her Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren, who listened to her "Once upon a time, there was a little girl, named ESMERELDA... stories, throughout their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John Luther Gustafson and Axie Jane (Janie) Cash Gustafson; sisters: Catherine Gustafson Colvin, and Margaret Gustafson Whitaker, and beloved husband of 54 years: Darwin Audry Dulaney.

Dewayne and Mary Dulaney of Carlisle, Arkansas.
Daughter and son-in-law: Denise and Ricky Hayes of Rockdale, Texas.
Grandchildren:
Joshua Allen Hayes and wife Angela, of Georgetown, Texas.
Audrey Rebecca Hayes Ramsey and husband Brandon, of Webberville, Texas.
Great Grandchildren:
Ethan Micah Hayes and Jaeda MacKenzie Hayes of Georgetown, Texas.
Brother-in-law: Jimmy Dulaney and wife, Melba, of West Monroe, LA.
Sister-in-law: Jean Dulaney Whitten and husband, Godfrey, of Grayson, LA.
Sister-in-law: Sue Craine Dulaney Adams, of Sikes, LA.
Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Everybody who knew her, loved her sweet smile, warm hugs, and gentle personality.
