Doris Irene Williams Jeffers peacefully transitioned on May 29, 2025. Mrs. Jeffers was born on July 1, 1944 to Mr. Alonzo Williams and Mrs. Nancy Burnett Williams in Orange County, North Carolina. Mrs. Jeffers worked as a Dietary Cashier at Twin Lakes for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. Doris was a very active member of First Baptist Church serving on the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee, Youth Department, and looking after the children in the church's daycare. For many years Mrs. Doris served her 1962 Jordan Sellars Classmates by being an attentive member of the event planning committee. In her downtime, Mrs. Jeffers loved to work on crossword and regular puzzles, bowl, and as a way of keeping herself active, she even engaged in playing softball.
Mrs. Jeffers leaves her cherished memories to her husband, Alvin Jeffers, her children: Derek Bennett (Liz), and Christopher Bennett (Kimberly). Stepchildren: Tyrone Jeffers (Kenya), Kimberly Coe (Howard). Grandchildren: Derek Bennett Jr., Devin Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Zoë Bennett, Joseph Bennett, Wynston Coe, Bryson Coe, Clayton Coe, Maya Jeffers, Miles Jeffers and four great-grandchildren. Her siblings: Tony Williams, Harold D. Williams (Marilyn), and Shirley W. Dixon along with many nephews, cousins and niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Alonzo Williams and Mrs. Nancy Burnett Williams, her daughter Miss Loris Bennett, and her sisters: Georgia Williams Wilson, and Nancy Carolyn Williams Green.
