Doris Atha Kimble, 85, of Lilburn, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on February 10, 1941, in Alapaha, GA. Doris lived a life defined by faith, family, and kindness.
Doris graduated in 1961 from Southwest DeKalb High School. She was a devoted member of Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church and was also a past member of Church Women United. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and a guiding light to all who knew her.
Doris found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved knitting and needlepoint, creating treasured handmade gifts for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers with care, and spending peaceful days fishing. Above all, Doris loved her family. She was immensely proud of each of them and was always their biggest cheerleader, offering constant encouragement, warmth, and unwavering support. Everyone who knew Doris loved her gentle spirit, kind heart, and welcoming smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Paden Kimble and Emma May Kimble; her sister, Linda May Kimble; and her brother, Kenneth Paden Kimble.
Doris is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Grace Kimble Crary (George); her sisters, Elaine Manning and Phenona Kimble; her nephews, Ted Tallent, Tim Tallent, Chris Crowley, David Lee Manning, and Patrick Manning; and her nieces, Mary Crowley, Beth Waters, Kim Manning, and Christy Bernhard. She leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish her memory always.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. A second visitation will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church, 1396 Mt. Paron Church Road, Alapaha, GA 31622, with the funeral service to immediately follow.
Doris’s life was a beautiful example of love, devotion, and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
