Doris Mae Chervenak Kopac, 98, passed away November 12, 2024 at Bluebird Retirement Community in London, OH, and is now at peace with the Lord for eternity. Doris was born in Portage, PA on July 30, 1926, lived most of her early years in Louisville, KY, and spent most of her adult life in Pennsylvania. Doris moved to Ohio in 2018 to be close to family, especially her beloved brother E.J.
Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband Stanley; parents Joseph and Naomi Schnell Chervenak; brothers and sisters-in-law Eugene (E.J./Gene) and Camille, David and Patricia, and Norris; nephew Eric Chervenak, and Trish Chervenak (wife of Tim).
Doris is survived by Chervenak family nieces and nephews; Gene Jr., Karen (Dennis) Wiser, Michael (Sandra), David Jr. (Debbie), Kristin (Leila), Paul (Donna), Habiba/Monica Miller, Claudia (Stephen) McCrocklin, Mary (John) Weir, Virginia (Mark) Lucas, Ann, and Timothy; many grand nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law Loretta Chervenak and Elizabeth Sedgwick.
Doris worked in the banking industry in Oakmont, PA. In the early years, she and Stan traveled, spending precious time with family and friends, and later in life with her Tripoly Club, a group of gals that traveled well into their late 70's. Doris loved the mountains, wildlife, cats, needle crafts and was a master seamstress. She was an independent woman with a giving heart and wonderful sense of humor. Doris was a strong woman in her life and her faith, as a lifetime Catholic. She lost her beloved husband Stan in 1969 and will be reunited with him in Portage, PA, where she will rest eternally at St. Mary's (Assumption of the Blessed Mary) Cemetery.
The family extends many thanks to the staff of Bluebird Retirement Community, Ohio Valley Hospice and Affinity Hospice for your loving care of Doris.
