The Villages, FL
Doris Cecile Lagarde, 83, passed away peacefully with her daughters and sister by her side on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages FL.
She was born in Biddeford, Maine on January 24, 1941, daughter of Carlos and Juliette (Dauphinais) De Silva.
On November 8, 1958 she married Raoul A. Lagarde Jr at St. Mary's Church in Biddeford. They were married for 63 years.
Doris was employed at Bell Shops, Coach Lantern Shop, St. Andres nursing home and retired from Medicare/BCBS in 2005.
She was a member of St. Vincent Du Paul of The Villages, FL.
Doris enjoyed crocheting, card making and cross stitching having made many family members Christmas stockings to cherish for years to come. She was active with the Wounded Hero's of Maine as well as the Juliette's and Catholic Council of Women in Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband. Raoul A. Lagarde Jr. in 2022; one son, Michael Lagarde in 2010 and one daughter, Diane Parker in 2017.
Doris is survived by two daughters,, Debra Romprey of California and Cindy McGriff and her husband Rick of Indiana; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Ainsley, Kyle, Alysha, Ashlyn and Alicyn; five great grandchildren, Colin, Elize, Madison, Penelope and Emersyn with a sixth great grandchild, Miles arriving soon. She is also survived by a son in law, Edward Parker Jr; one sister, Constance Chretien and husband Bernard; brother in law, Paul Lagarde and wife Janet and by nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday August 1, 2024 at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford, ME. Burial will follow at St. Mary's cemetery in Biddeford.
