Doris Elmira Logan, aged 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on February 14, 2025. She was a nurturing mother, sister, aunt, friend, and a beloved figure known as Donda and Tink Tink to her cherished grandchildren. Doris had an extraordinary capacity for love and kindness, never hesitating to welcome newcomers into her life. Her vibrant personality and zest for life made her a joy to be around, as she was often the heart of social gatherings. Known for her generosity, Doris frequently extended her hospitality to both loved ones and strangers alike. Her forgiving nature and deep faith offered comfort and inspiration to many, and her profound connection with the Lord was a cornerstone of her life.
Doris was born on October 19, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Oliver Mitchell and Floretta Matthews. She is preceded in death by her father, Oliver Mitchell; mother, Floretta Matthews; sisters, Bettie Miller, Jackie Mitchell; brother, Oliver Mitchell, Jr.; and granddaughter, Charlize Logan.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her daughters Laresha Logan and Shavonda Logan; sons Lamar Logan and Shontez Logan; niece, Jasmine Mitchell; grandchildren Carl Brown III, Antiwuan Satterfield Jr., Tiwuan Satterfield, Nia Lewis, Chance Logan, Chaze Logan, and Niyla Logan; great-grandchildren Niaomi Lewis and Devin Satterfield; her brother Robert McCormick; her best friend Stacy Sowell; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, located at 3815 W Broadway. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with burial taking place thereafter at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
