Doris Jean (Perkins) Maggert, 81, of Blackduck, MN, went from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
A graveside service/burial will be held at the Wildwood Cemetery, in Moose Lake Township, Blackduck, MN, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27th for family and close friends to celebrate. Dale Ropp will be assisting.
Doris was born March 7, 1942, in Bagley, MN to Ivan and Florence Perkins. She graduated from Northome High School, Northome, MN. She worked as a Secretary after high school and then later attended Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute. She loved children and worked for some time at Mt. Carmel Faith Orphanage in Morrison, Illinois. She married Jed Maggert on October 22, 1966 in Gemmell, MN where they lived for several years before moving to Blackduck, MN in 1980 and resided there until her death.
Doris was a quiet, peaceful person who loved her husband, children, and grandchildren deeply. She loved spending time with her family and was happiest when they were around. She enjoyed spending time sewing, cooking, gardening, doing crossword puzzles and playing scrabble with her friends.
Doris is survived by her husband, Jed of Blackduck, MN; her 3 boys, Mark (Jennifer) of Bemidji, MN, Beck (Julia) of Blackduck, MN, and Derk (Joleen) of Fergus Falls, MN; 13 Grandchildren, Kristopher (Angela), Nickolas, Mitchel, Kaylee, and RJ of Bemidji, MN; Kermit (Anne) and Tyler, of Kalona IA; Stephanie and Pandra of Blackduck, MN; Caitlyn, Mackenzie, Natalie, and Reagan of Fergus Falls, MN; several Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, and nephews; and her sisters Betty (Jan) Maggert and Lois (Perkins, Kruger) King.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Florence (Mode) Perkins; her brother Robert; her sister Joy; and Daughter-in-Law Dawn (Fisher) Maggert.
