Doris K Maltarich

Doris Maltarich died peacefully on February 24, 2022 after 94 years of a full life. There will now be one less person reading these obituaries every day. Doris was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio where she attended Kenmore high school. While at Kenmore she met Bill Maltarich who she married. They had a great life revolving around their family.
She is survived by Bill Maltarich Sr, her husband of 75 years and their five children, Bill Maltarich (Peggy), Ron Maltarich (Kitty), Bob Maltarich (Gayle), Barbara Costigan (Bill) and Diane Lukens (Scott). Doris was also blessed with sixteen grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren who she tried to spoil the way that only a grandmother can do. She is also survived by her sister, Rose (John Stocker); sister-in-law, Louise Merle of Wadsworth and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raising and loving her family was the major focus of her life. In return, she was loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and visiting the local Racinos where she professed to have a successful system on the slots. She was a very positive person who always had an encouraging word for all her family. She will be missed by her family but will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Monday, February 28, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at the corner of Battles Ave and 16th Street in Akron with Fr. Michael B. Smith officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to mass. MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT THE CHURCH. Private Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron will follow the mass.
The family expresses thanks and gratitude to the wonderful care givers at Saint Edwards in Fairlawn who provided superb support to our mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Village of Saint Edwards Fairlawn, Ohio.
