Doris Marie (Creese) Neddermeyer was born on August 28, 1942, the daughter of Raymond and Donna (Abbott) Creese near Charter Oak, Iowa. She was baptized into the Catholic faith and received her education from Charter Oak Schools.

On June 7, 1959, Doris married Gailen Neddermeyer at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak and they were blessed with seven children: Gary, Bonnie, Janine, Vicky, Keith, Angela and Tamara. Doris dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, finding joy in raising her children and creating warm, home-cooked meals for them. The delightful aroma of her homemade bread filled the hearts of her family members. She spent countless hours gardening and canning jams. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her home as she actively participated in the ladies' aid group at St. Paul Hanover Township near Charter Oak. She also spent time working a waitress at Cronk’s and Jo-Mart where she made friends and formed a bowling league.

Following a period of transition in her life, Doris relocated to Denison where she started work as a cook and worked her way up to a dietary supervisor at Eventide Nursing Home. During this chapter of her life, she discovered a newfound passion for photography, which allowed her to capture the beauty of the world around her and ensuring that every smile and milestone was forever preserved. She found great delight in line dancing, where she could move to the rhythm of life with grace and joy. Her adventurous spirit found solace in traveling and relaxing in the great outdoors, particularly at Yellow Smoke.

She absolutely loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her thoughtful gestures were evident in the cards filled with love that she never failed to send on every special occasion. Her vibrant spirit spread warmth and kindness to all those around her.

Doris passed away at the Denison Care Center on Saturday, August 10, 2024, having attained the age of 81 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Robert Creese. She is survived by her children: Gary Neddermeyer of Denison, Bonnie (Larry) McCullough of Missouri Valley, Janine (Ian) Strauss of Emmett, Idaho, Vicky (Ron) Reis of Denison, Keith (Sheryl) Neddermeyer of Greeley, Colorado, Angela (Richard) Mumm of Ida Grove and Tammy (Jim) Dyson of Kearney, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary Ann Bechen of Mapleton, Betty Lou Miller of Omaha, Peggy Aldag of Schleswig, Phyllis (Dick) Kragel of Charter Oak, Mick Creese of Wyoming and Bill (Kim) Creese of Ute; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
