In Loving Memory of Kaylene Helen Neddermeyer
Kaylene Helen (Schmidt) Neddermeyer, aged 63, of Cody, Wyoming, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2024.
Born on September 18, 1960, in Denison, lA, to Vernie and Helen (Klinker) Schmidt, Kaylene's journey touched the lives of many.
Baptized and confirmed at Denison Zion Lutheran Church, Kaylene graduated from Schleswig High School in 1979. She made her mark as a starting guard on the 6- woman basketball team.
In 1980, Kaylene ventured to Northwest College in Powell, WY, where she pursued her passion for photography and earned an associate's degree in accounting.
In the summer of 1983, she married Marc Neddermeyer. Together, they built a life in Cody and raised four beautiful children.
Kaylene followed in her mother's footsteps, actively participating in Christ the King Lutheran Church as a Sunday School teacher, altar guild member, and LWML participant. She was an integral part of her community. In her spare time, Kaylene contributed her accounting skills to Primerica Financial Services.
An outstanding and selfless mother, Kaylene's love for her children knew no bounds. She spent countless nights and weekends supporting and cheering them on at athletic events and dance recitals, giving them everything and asking for nothing in return.
The arrival of her first grandson in February 2009 brought Kaylene a new level of happiness. She cherished every moment and eventually welcomed five more grandchildren into her heart.
Kaylene's compassion and kindness touched everyone around her, leaving an enduring legacy that will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Schmidt, grandsons Archie and Wayne Neddermeyer, and brother-in-law Robert Barnes. Kaylene is survived by her four children Trista, Stephanie (Randy) Rockey, Matthew (Betsey), Dustin, two brothers Terry (Marla) Schmidt, Tom (Sheila) Schmidt, one sister Sandra Barnes, and four grandchildren Gavin, Grey, Rayven, and Cecilia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Friday, January 26, at 11:00 am, followed by burial at Riverside-Graham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church Preschool or the LWML, honoring Kaylene's commitment to her community and faith.
