O B I T U A R Y

Doris Jean Benningfield Price of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Chester Benningfield and Ivan Martin Benningfield was born on Friday, April 21, 1944 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Saturday, October 4, 2025 in Louisville. She was 81 years, 5 months, and 13 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ early in life and was a member of Hogards Chapel Global Methodist Church, while also being a member of Methodist Women for many years. She worked at Fruit of the Loom for 32 years and then retired after 3 years in the dietary department at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. They also had a family farm where her and her late husband raised their family, worked cattle and tobacco, and milked cows. She loved to travel and traveled to Canada and many states in the United States. Her favorite thing in the world though, was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-granddaughter.

She was united in marriage on November 16, 1968 to Michael Carter Price, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2015.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael H. and Angie Price, Edward L. and Janice Price all of Green County; four grandchildren: Alex Price and Katelyn, Maylee Brown and Lukas, Avry Price, Max Price all of Green County; one great-granddaughter: Karson Price of Green County; two brothers-in-law: Robert Price of Greensburg, Walt Quillman of Louisville; two sisters-in-law: Betty and Joe South of Metcalfe County, Linda and Owen Thompson of Campbellsville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters: Shirley Bennett, Kay Shipp, Christine Benningfield; sisters-in-law: Edna Montgomery, Nora Quillman, Nancy Price; two brothers-in-law: Junior Robertson and Ray Shipp.

The funeral services for Doris Jean Benningfield Price will be conducted at 11 A.M., Central Time, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery. Bro. Bryan Estes and Bro. Earl West officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday at the funeral home and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Thursday until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or Brookside Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
