Doris Jean (Miller) Raynor was born July 28, 1941, to parents, Winfield Butler (WB) Miller and Lucille (Ferring) Miller in Louisville, KY. Doris joined Our Lord September 19, 2025, from our home in Portland, OR.

Doris graduated from Southern High School, Okolona (Louisville), KY in 1959. That year she met Bob Raynor whom she later married in 1962. Daughter Deborah Jean (Jeannie Whalen) was born in 1964, and son Michael Robert in 1966. We later welcomed 16-year-old Carie Mackey into our family in 1982.

Doris was a beacon for everyone – a doting wife, parent and friend to all she met. Loving, open, accepting, positive, friendly, morally upstanding – she embraced it all!

After helping her husband through college while masterfully managing our household and focusing upon our children's learning, she later furthered her own education. Once the children were grown, Doris earned her degree in sociology from Aurora, U., Aurora, IL. She worked as a social worker. She taught English as a second language at a nearby college. She was involved in local women's clubs, volunteered for humanitarian causes, serving on the boards of some of these organizations. Years later, Doris completed two years of study at Seabury – Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL.

Doris so loved reading and playing cards. She was a masterful bridge player and always enjoyed being a part of bridge groups and book clubs. Doris' greatest joys were her family, longtime close friends and her loving St. Barnabas Episcopal Church community in Glen Ellyn, IL. Doris will be sorely missed by all.
