A funeral service for Mrs. Doris Ann Reid will be conducted Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and resume on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Mrs. Reid, 78 years old, died on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at The Waters of McKenzie. She was born March 19, 1945 in Dresden to the late L.T. Baker and Alice Marie Johnson Baker. Mrs. Reid loved gardening and buying and selling antiques. She also enjoyed quilting and bird watching. Mrs. Reid was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mavis Reid; daughter, Anita Reid; grandson, Caleb Leyhue; three sisters, Alice Valentine, Gloria Kirkland, and Phyllis Koebel.
Survivors include one son, David Reid and wife Martha of Dresden; daughter, April Tolbert and husband Donald of McKenzie; brother, Harry Baker of Springville. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Lindsey Goad (Jamie) Kristi Reddick (Adam) Liberty Calderon (Miguel) and Kinzi Reid as well as six great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Adam Reddick, Miguel Calderon, Buford Norden, Phillip Davis, Jordan Winstead and Bruce McCartney.
