Doris Smith

Doris Minger Smith, age 89, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 in Bonifay, Florida. She was born November 29, 1935, in Westville, Florida to Robert and Birlie Minger. Doris was an active member of Cedar Springs Assembly of God Church. She loved to cook and garden. When not in the kitchen or the garden, she enjoyed a good shopping excursion, always on the lookout for a great find or a unique treasure. Above all else, Doris's greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She showered them with love, laughter, and endless affection, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Smith; parents, Robert and Birlie Minger; two brothers, Dwight Minger (Lucille) and Drew Minger (Cathy); sister, Dorothy Peterson (Pete); and one niece, Annette Minger.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Cindy Roberts (Greg); three grandchildren, Ariel Brentise (David); Technical Sergeant Senior Enlisted Aide to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, Tyler Harris; and Zachary Harris; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral home of Bonifay, 406 US Highway 90 West, Bonifay, Florida beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Jenkins officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior. Committal will follow at Hickory Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
