Doris Thomas Obituary

Doris Jean Thomas, a cherished soul and a beloved member of the Louisville community, left this world on August 7, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on January 24, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, Doris was a woman whose heart was as warm as the sunlit streets of her hometown.

Doris is fondly remembered for her vibrant personality, characterized by a unique blend of humor and sincerity. She had a knack for bringing joy to those around her, often lightening the mood with her contagious laughter and genuine spirit. Her wisdom was evident in her direct words, always offering heartfelt advice that touched the lives of many.

As a proud original member of Cable Baptist Church, Doris dedicated herself to serving both her church and her God faithfully throughout her life. Her commitment and contributions were a testament to her character, inspiring others to walk with faith and purpose.

In her quieter moments, Doris found solace and satisfaction as a dressmaker. This hobby allowed her to weave creativity into fabric, crafting garments that were not just worn but treasured. Her artistry, combined with her meticulous attention to detail, left an indelible mark on those who received her handmade pieces.

Doris’s presence will continue to echo in the halls of Cable Baptist Church, a place where her spirit shined brightly among friends and fellow congregation members. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at her beloved church located at 314 South Wenzel Street, Louisville, KY. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, culminating in a heartfelt celebration of her life.

A graveside service will follow at Green Meadows Cemetery, 3800 Shanks Lane, Louisville, KY.

As we remember and honor Doris Jean Thomas, let us carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and faith. She touched so many lives, and her memory will forever remain a guiding light in our hearts.
