Doris "Fay" Turner, age 83, of New Market, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Fay graduated from Jefferson County High School and attended Knoxville Business College. She was a member of New Market United Methodist Church. She was a faithful homemaker and substitute teacher for many years with Jefferson County Schools. Fay will be remembered by her love for bread, potatoes, sweet tea with lemon, ships, boats, the color blue, and snowmen. She was a good mother and loving wife of 55 years to her husband, Robert. She was a faithful Christian woman and loved Jesus. Fay enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking, shopping, and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Elda Lowery; baby sister, Barbara Inez Lowery; sister, Betty Rose Mantooth; brother, Ralph Lowery Jr.; and husband, Robert "Snubber" Turner. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Turner, Sylvia Watt, and Iris (Dennis) Trent; brother, Lynn (Gwen) Lowery; sister-in-law, Rhonda Lowery; granddaughter Katie (Josh) Hatcher; grandson John "Noah" Pratt; great-grandson Bryson Hatcher. Fay is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5 at New Market United Methodist Church. Memorial service will follow the receiving of friends with Reverend John Slater officiating. Inurnment is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and The Serenity House for the loving care that they provided for Fay as she prepared for her final journey to her eternal home. The family would be honored if you would help remember Fay by considering making a memorial donation to Friends of Hospice, The Serenity House, located in Morristown, TN (hospicefriends.org) in loving memory of her.
