Doris Waddell, born on September 25, 1942, departed from this life on November 30, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Roy & Valerie Clontz Mathis.
A dedicated professional, Doris enjoyed a fulfilling career as the Shoe Department Manager for Roses Department Store and later as a Sales Associate at Wal-Mart, where she committed more than 27 years of her life before retiring.
Throughout her life, Doris was known for her deep love of family. She is survived by her sons, Eric Jeter (Shanna) and Darren Jeter (Selena), her sister Christine Worley, and her cherished grandchildren: Tylar Walker, Erica, and Jordan Jeter. Doris was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Nai'lah and Ariyah, who brought immense joy to her life.
A graveside service to celebrate Doris's life will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler, North Carolina, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Doris Waddell's legacy of love and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The care of Ms. Waddell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
