Doris Jean Wadsworth

Doris Jean Wadsworth, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on August 31 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi at the age of 71.  Born on June 3, 1953, in Leeds, Alabama, Doris brought joy and warmth to those around her throughout her life.

Doris was a proud graduate of Belle Chasse High School in Belle Chasse,, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with reading, gardening, and a passionate commitment to animal rescue. These hobbies not only reflected her interests but also highlighted her loving and compassionate nature.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Shawn and Crystal Hudson of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Joshua and Meranda Hudson of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Doris found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, leaving behind five grandchildren: Trent Hudson, Harrison Hudson, Easton Hudson, Elijah Hudson, and Ava Patterson (Meranda), all of whom carry her spirit and love in their hearts.

Doris is preceded in death by her father, William Burnos Wadsworth, and her mother, Ruby Lee Harris Wadsworth. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Billy Wayne and Jimmy Eugen Wadsworth, and her sister, Judy Ann Wadsworth, who all remain in the memories and tributes of their loved ones.

Doris Jean Wadsworth will be fondly remembered for her kindness, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who loved her grandsons with all of her heart.   Doris rarely met a stranger and brought smiles and happiness to so many.  Her smiles and laugh always brought warmth and love to our hearts and souls.  Gran's Christmas' and goodie bags were always so unique and heartfelt and the boys all loved them so much!.  The world will not be the same without Gran!.  Until we meet again, Mom, we love you dearly!

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for September 14, 2024, at Dunnavant Faith Baptist Church in Leeds, Alabama, where family and friends will gather to honor Doris's remarkable life. The service will begin at 9:00 AM, with reflections and remembrances highlighting the lasting impact she has had on many. Following this, attendees will have the opportunity to share their personal tributes to a woman whose generosity and spirit touched the lives of so many.
