The former Rose Mary Anderson was born on April 10, 1941, in Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of Roger and Betty L. (Leo) Anderson. She graduated from Moline High School and went on to work for many years as a secretary at Lutheran and Trinity Moline Hospitals before retiring in 1999. She married David N. Rose was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona. She enjoyed golfing, antiquing, researching her family ancestry, dining out, treating herself to a mocha frappe from McDonald’s, traveling, dancing with her husband, and, most of all, spending cherished time with her grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her beloved children, Kelly (Tim) Rockstroh of Davenport, Iowa, Ronald (Lynda) Carpenter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John (Lori) Carpenter of Gautier, Mississippi, Katherine Carpenter of Moline, Illinois, Jeffrey (Fran) Carpenter of South Elgin, Illinois, and Kimberly (Patrick) McCarthy of Geneseo, Illinois; 21 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Carpenter, and parents, Roger and Betty Anderson.
