Doris Elaine Wessner, 94, of Erie, PA and formerly of Bucks County, PA, died Friday, July, 18, 2025 at Parkside at North East. She was born on Sept., 7, 1930 the daughter of the late Harry and Alice Buckman.
Doris graduated from East Greenville High School in 1948. She had many jobs, including waitress, florist and lace factory worker, to name a few. She ended her employment at AAA, promoting travel and handling their foreign money exchanges.
She loved to travel, visiting all 50 states, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. Additionally, she traveled to over 30 countries.
After retirement, Doris volunteered at the Grandview Hospital gift shop in Bucks County, and at a non-profit thrift store benefiting the Bucks County Library.
She was a member of Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, serving in various positions over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Wessner, and an infant son, Dennis Wessner.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Diley of Edinboro, PA and Marsha Newman of Hughesville, MD; two sons, Michael Wessner of Pineville, PA and Andrew Wessner of White Haven, PA; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service and luncheon will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Rd., New Hope, PA 18938. Private burial of ashes will be in Thompson Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church at the address above.
