Doris Louise Wilkinson, 81, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025.
Born on April 7, 1943, in Monroe, Georgia, Doris was the daughter of the late Lucille and Clinton Parks. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Howard Parks.
Doris dedicated her career to education, working as a teacher for the Clayton County Board of Education until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her kindness and devotion to family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Wendell Wilkinson, and her children: Flora (Riel) Vizcarra, Roy Wilkinson, Cendy (Danny Ray) Reynolds, Ritchie Wilkinson, and Michelle (Carl) Stephens. She also leaves behind her siblings: Jack (Frances) Parks, Earl (Beverly) Parks, and Alice (Charles) Rhoden.
Doris was a proud grandmother to Desiree' Bailey, Jeremy Reynolds, Ashley Bailey, Andy Bailey, Justin Reynolds, Zachary Smith, Rebecca Archambo, Kristen Loggins, Ariel Vizcarra, and Dawson Loggins, and a cherished great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 5, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, 2047 Hwy 138 SE, Jonesboro, GA 30236. A service to honor Doris's life will be held on Thursday, March 6, at 11:00 AM at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, followed by burial at Sherwood Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest.
Her love and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
