Timothy (Tim) Lee Wilkinson, 74, was truly surrounded by his family and went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2026. Tim was born in Akron, Ohio on July 15, 1951, to the late Jesse and Margaret Wilkinson. He accepted Jesus as his savior at an early age and was a longtime member at Hope Baptist Church (formerly Brown Street Baptist Church), where he served faithfully as a Trustee, Deacon, and a teacher in the children’s ministry.
Tim proudly retired from AT&T after 43 years of service in the computer maintenance field. His humble beginnings at the company started by collecting change from payphones in the Akron area. He had many roles and was very proud of this career. More importantly, he developed many friendships along the way and enjoyed gathering regularly with his fellow AT&T retirees.
Tim loved firearms and motorcycles, but above all, his family. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and was frequently seen supporting them at their many sporting and musical events or taking them on unique experiences.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Loraine, brother, Edward Wilkinson, and sister, Lois Montis. He is survived by his sons, Tim (Angie) Wilkinson and Aaron (Liz) Wilkinson; niece, Sunny Starcher; brothers, Gary (Dorothy) Wilkinson, Phill Wilkinson (Ken McFarland), and sister-in-law Lois Jean Wilkinson. He was known as “Papa” to Emma Wilkinson (Jon), Megan Wagner (Zach), Jesse Wilkinson (Sam), Tyler Seemann, Lauren Wilkinson, Noah Wilkinson, and Sydney Wilkinson, as well as great-granddaughters Quinn, Wren, and Blake and will be missed by all his other family members as well as his close friends Takilla and Harry.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday January 15, 2026, from 6pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Hope Baptist Church on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12pm. Internment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
Donations can be made in Tim’s memory to The ALS Association.
