Dorothy Lyons-Babb, affectionately known as "Nancy," was born to the late Dollie Davis and Aurthur Lyons on December 13, 1953. She departed this earthly life on October 21, 2025.

At an early age, Dorothy found God. She served at Midway Baptist Church, where her helping hands were a blessing in the kitchen until her health declined.

Dorothy was educated in the Monroe County school system and graduated with the Class of 1971. She became an Eastern Star in 1985 and a Master Cosmetologist in 1989. Dorothy possessed an extraordinary flair for styling hair; her touch turned hair into art, and her skills were truly exceptional. In 1990, she earned her Nurse Certification. Dorothy was known for her natural love for people, her warm spirit, and her beautiful smile.

Dorothy devoted her life to her greatest blessings, first to her beloved son, and later to her cherished granddaughter.

Dorothy was preceded in death by Mr. John Henry and Mr. Sinnod Davis; her sibling, Terry King; her cousins, Ms. Wanda Kay Fuller and Ms. Christine Wright; and her niece, E'landria Banks.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Ja'Quarrius Lyons (the love of her life); her granddaughter, Taylor Travis; her siblings, James (Uletra) Lyons, Beverly Alford, Rupert Lyons, Veronica (Timthoy) Gaines, Charles Lyons, and a sister who resides in Thomaston, Georgia; her auntie, Lillie Brown; sister-in-law, Dorothea Lyons; devoted friend Kelly Babb; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Eastern Star family.
