Dorothy Bowen Pope Obituary

Mrs. Pope was a 1964 graduate of Cordele High School. She worked as a professional seamstress for twenty years before embarking on a second career as a commercial truck driver, which allowed her to travel the country extensively for numerous years.
In her retirement, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her children, granddaughters, great-grandson, and beloved pets.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Edward Peavy (Lucy) of Macon, and James Todd Lynch of Ocilla; two granddaughters, Sarah Peavy Richards (Levi) of Brisbane, Australia, and Kirsten Lynch of Douglas; and great-grandson Gatlynn Lynch.
Graveside services will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, with Brother Don Howell officiating.
