Dorothy Marie Caudle, 91 of Farmersville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimers at Lakeside Nursing Home in Carlinville.
She was born Nov. 8, 1932 in Maccasin Township, the daughter of Walter and Marie Kruse Henke. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bertha Duewer and Helma McPhail.
Dorothy was married to Gerald Allgood and later divorced. She also married Claude Caudle and later divorced.
Dorothy graduated from Farmersville High School in 1951. Most of her working years were spent at Franklin Life Insurance in Springfield where she retired in 1991. She also worked for AIG for a time after retirement.
She was an active member of Zion Luteran Church in Farmersville. Dorothy was also active and enjoyed the senior citizens group in Farmersville. She loved crafting, crocheting, and most of all quilting. Most of her beautiful creations were shared with the family she loved so much.
Dorothy hasn't been able to share Christmas with her family for several years. This year she is celebrating the ultimate Christmas in her heavenly home. She will be loved and missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her son, Daniel (Anita) Allgood; grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Montgomery, Aaron Allgood, Amy (Matt) Bivins, Andrea Fouts, Angie Henson, Rudy Rosier, John (Marcella) Rosier, and Daniel (Tammie) Rosier; numerous great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; and a brother, Ervin Henke.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am till time of service at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Road, Divernon with Rev. Michael Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Rovey Cemetery in Farmersville.
Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Luteran Church (LCMS) in Farmersville or Farmersville/Waggoner Ambulance.
