Dorothy Christian Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center & Confluence Center on Dec. 5, 2025.
Dorothy "Dot" Marie Christian (nee Moffat), 87, Fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on December 2, 2025.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dot leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and steady, unconditional love.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Thomas J Christian III, Michelle (Vic) Amidon, Michael (Joanna) Christian, Dave (Ellen) Christian, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother, J.J. (Karen) Moffat, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Thomas J. Christian Jr., her daughter Laura Keckler and grandson Brandon Keckler, her sister Rita Krolak and her husband Pat Krolak, her parents James and Dorothy Moffat and daughter-in-law Kim Christian.
Dot built a life defined by compassion and hard work. She dedicated 26 years to nursing, serving as a registered nurse whose gentle hands and warm heart comforted countless patients. After retiring from healthcare, she embarked on a second career as a real estate agent, guiding families through major milestones with the same care and integrity that shaped every part of her life.
A gifted and creative soul, Dot poured her heart into the things she made. She was an exceptional seamstress and crocheter, crafting beautiful pieces that became family treasures. As a member of her church's prayer shawl ministry, she created shawls and blankets to comfort those facing illness, loss, or hardship-each stitch a silent prayer. She also found joy in gardening, tending vibrant flowers and growing life from the soil, and her home was often filled with the warm scents of her cooking and baking. When she wasn't creating, she could often be found reading, delighted to lose herself in a good book.
Service was part of her nature. She volunteered regularly at the local food pantry, offering both practical help and genuine compassion to anyone in need. Her generosity, patience, and quiet strength touched countless lives, making her a pillar within her community.
Above all, Dot cherished her family. As a loving mom, grandma, and great-grandmother, she nurtured, encouraged, and celebrated each person with unwavering devotion. Her home was a place of comfort and warmth, shaped by her loving presence and gentle spirit.
Her love, creativity, and compassion live on in all who were blessed to know her.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 4:00pm 8:00pm at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. St. Charles, MO 63304.
