Dorothy May (Crabtree) Coffey was born April 18, 1939, and departed this life Saturday, October 25, 2025, reaching the age of 86 years. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Beulah (Sexton) Crabtree.

She married Earl Coffey on July 12th, 1955.

To this union three children were born: Bobby (Patricia) Coffey, Sherry (Clyde) Upchurch, and Jimmy (Mickie) Coffey; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Tyler) Dobbs, Julia Gaines, Whitney (JP) Tweedy, Phillip Coffey and Patrick (Chelsea) Coffey, Sherry Lynn Dobbs, Scott Upchurch, and grandson-in-law, Patrick Gaines.

She is also survived by: great grandchildren, Dawson and Jade Tweedy, Dillon Upchurch, Autumn Upchurch, Amanda McKenney, DayLynn Monday, Addalynn, Brentlee, Aviley, Benjamin, and Bram Coffey, Madison and Kim Denney, Harrison, Brenna and Camden Gaines; one sister, Jean Griffin; and one brother, Robert Crabtree; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Beulah Crabtree; her husband, Earl; one sister, Betty Bell; and brothers, Wendell, Joe Louis, Bill, Mintford, Earl, and Arnold Crabtree.

Dorothy accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Missouri Hollow Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025, between 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the New Sandusky Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Missouri Hollow Baptist Church.
