Dorothy J. Devlin

Dorothy J. "Dot" Devlin, 95, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Devlin. They married on November 10, 1951, and shared 73 years of love, and memories.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late R. Paul Merkel and Miriam Schmeck. Dot worked in the Reading Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and was an active member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach, reading, cooking, and helping others in their time of need.

Those cherishing Dot's memory are her children: Linda Grill (Dana), Terrence Devlin, Eileen Geiss (Drew), and Marie Minnich (David); her grandchildren: Mischala, Alison, Brandon, Dustin, Taylor, and Christian; as well as her great-grandchildren: Alex, Kaia, Ellie, and Bryson. She was predeceased by her sibling: Eleanor (Merkel) LoFrisco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 740 Cherry St, West Reading, PA 19611, with inurnment to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
