John T. Endy, 73, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away January 28, 2026, at Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg.
He was the loving husband of Barbara (Moszczienski) Endy.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Thomas Endy. And Arlene (Wentzel) wife of P. Fredrick Eisenbrown.
John was a 1971 graduate of Reading High School.
In his early teenage years John enjoyed spending his fair share of time skeet shooting for fun and time on the Schuylkill River fishing, boating and attempting his best to water ski with his stepfather Tiny. He also enjoyed spending his time in the woods hunting deer and small game.
John was deeply engaged in his community, always ready to support neighbors and friends in times of need. For many years, he served as a respected leader among firefighters, starting with the Neversink Fire Company Engine 3 in the early 1970’s, Cedar Top Vol. Fire Co (now Cumru Twp FD) serving multiple roles as an officer ending as assistant chief, Temple Fire Co. during the early 1980’s. After an almost 25 year absence from the fire service and a son looking to start his volunteer career he joined Goodwill Fire Co. of Hyde Park in 2005 where he transitioned from a fire fighter to a Fire Police Officer, Leesport Fire Co. where he served as fire police captain and ended his volunteer fire service career of almost 50 years at the now Muhlenberg Twp Fire Rescue as fire police captain. His commitment to service and leadership made a significant impact on those around him. He will be deeply missed by the community, family, neighbors and friends. In his younger years he served as a police officer for Mohnton Boro, Wyomissing Hills and West Lawn police department.
John was employed by Interstate Container/ United Corrstack until his retirement in 2016.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Debra A. Endy, Temple and John T. Endy, Jr., Muhlenberg Township; his sister, Ruth, wife of Richard Crouthammel, Limerick, several nephews and a niece; and his furry babies Tazz, Puma, Jolene and grand fur baby, Nala.
He was predeceased by his sister, Kathryn J. Seyfert.
A visitation will be Friday, February, 13, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560., Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations to be made to the Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Fort Washington Pa, 19034
