Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Differ Obituary

Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Differ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded by family and friends in her home in Amelia National Golf and Country Club in Fernandina Beach, FL. She was 83 years old.

Born on February 5, 1942, she was a daughter of the late George and Jean Stanton. Dottie was raised in Williamsport, PA with her parents and sister. Upon completion of High School, she attended Bloomsburg University from 1959 to 1963, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching. It was at Bloomsburg where she met her future husband, Anthony "Tony" L. Differ, Jr.

Shortly after graduation, Dottie and Tony were married and moved briefly to Winter Park, FL where their first son was born. They then moved back to PA and built a home in King of Prussia, where she would spend the next 45 years building and raising her growing family and hosting all family gatherings, picnics, and holidays.

After her children became teenagers, Dottie began a career in cosmetics. Her passion led to becoming sales manager for Sanofi Corporation, with accounts along the eastern seaboard in 7 states ranging from New York to West Virginia. Despite the traveling required, Dottie loved the work because she was at heart "a people person" and enjoyed the interactions with clients.

In 1989, Dottie left the industry to help Tony start their family business in utility construction. In the early years, Dottie did everything from bookkeeping to payroll to office management. After the company grew, Dottie was able to pull away and devote more time to being a grandmother and matron of the family.

In 2017, Dottie and Tony retired to their new home in FL, where Dottie enjoyed meeting new friends, the new social life, and having a new gathering place for friends and family to visit.

Unfortunately, Dottie had many health issues during her adult life. She endured a dozen different surgeries ranging from a brain aneurysm to a heart bypass to breast cancer, amongst others. She fought them all without complaints; as she was a survivor. Sadly, it was the last that she could not overcome, and she is finally at peace.

In addition to her loving husband, Tony, she is survived by her two sons, Anthony, III (Michelle) and Tyler (Janet); 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dottie is preceded in death by her daughter, Kari Ann Micolucci; and her sister, Patricia.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 from 9am to 11am. Memorial service will begin at 11am. Inurnment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dottie's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at https://alzfdn.org/.

Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Bridgeport, PA.
