Dorothy Edwards, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the University of MS Medical Center in Jackson. She was born November 3, 1953 in Rochester, NY where she lived out her childhood years and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. She was a member of her high school swim team and loved water recreation. In 1971, she married, then shortly after moved to Mississippi where she raised her children. She was a mother first then once life allowed she started her career in the transportation industry where she enjoyed traveling all around the country before she retired in Memphis, TN. She later relocated to Kosciusko, MS to be close to her children and grandchildren.
Dorothy was a selfless person who always put the needs of others first when she could, especially her children. She had an immense love for all her family and enjoyed sharing about them with anyone who would listen. Her proudest accomplishment in life was her 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church where she found true joy in being part of the ladies group and attending conferences with her sisters in Christ. Dorothy gave life to others through organ and tissue donation as her final act of love on this earth. Until we meet again, she will forever be in our hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Tamara Moss, Angela Avery, Anita Everts (Brad), Christina Goza (Larry), and Ola Fox (Eric), son Frank D. Edwards, grandchildren Dylan, Katherine, Braxton, Carlin, Kolby, Amelia, Joseph, Ayliana, and Devin, great-grandchildren Mason, Elijah, Maverick, Bryant, Lawson, Hazel, Abel, Olivia, Hanna, Nicolette, Emmett, Bryson, and Beau, sisters Deborah Beasaw (Glen) and Rachel James (Ronald), brothers John Stamp (Susan), David Stamp (Connie), and Steven Stamp (Irene), her children's father Frank H. Edwards, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
