Dorothy (Dottie) Gillespie, 90, of McKinney, Texas - much loved wife, Mom, mother-in-law, and Grammie - left this world for her forever home in heaven on October 25th, 2025.

Dottie was an amazing woman! A wonderful Mom, a loving and supportive wife (she and her husband were married 66 years prior to his passing in 2019), and a totally smitten Grammie to Grant - her one and only grandson.

She and one of her best friends decided to attend nursing school when Dana was in high school. She worked as a nurse for many years. Her last position was in the Student Health Center at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She loved working with the students.

Dottie had a servant’s heart and impacted so many people throughout her life in many ways. She was wholly committed to her Savior and was always active in church, serving in a multitude of ministry areas - too numerous to list. Dottie was an excellent cook and especially enjoyed cooking Mexican food for friends and family.

Christmas found her in the kitchen making a plethora of yummy candies and cookies to be delivered all over. One friend described Dottie as “going about doing good”. She was a giver all her life, always wanting to give gifts & bless others by helping them. Dottie’s Godly influence and kind heart are still having a positive impact on lives today.

Dottie is survived by daughter Dana Gillespie Christen, son-in-law Karl Christen, and beloved grandson Grant Christen. She was preceded in death by her husband Dolton (Doc) Gillespie, infant daughter Phyllis Ann, her parents David Phillip Quisenberry and Hettie Ann Quisenberry, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Mere words could never begin to express how much Dottie meant to so many. She will be missed but we know she has gone to her heavenly home where she is healed, whole, and joyful.

There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options. The family will receive friends from noon until service time. If you wish to join the service via webcast, please visit: https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/117003

Dottie will be laid to rest with her husband in Vernon, Texas at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025,
