Allen Family Funeral Options - PlanoThomas Stephen Joseph Koch was born September 5, 1974, in Endwell, New York to parents Karl Martin Koch, Jr and Carol Ann (Watts) Koch. He passed away October 24, 2025.
Tom grew up in Endwell, New York, the youngest of nine children. He obtained his associate degree at Broome Community College and completed his criminal justice degree at Buffalo State University.
He moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he met the love of his life, Deani. Tom was police officer with the Richardson Police Department in Richardson, Texas, for 16 years and worked his way up to Lieutenant.
A devoted family man who worked nights in order to take his four children to school and be at all their activities. He always tried to better himself and considered each day a fresh start. Tom had hilarious one-liners and a smile that could light up a room. He was a courageous, dashing hero to those who knew and loved him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Deani Koch; children Thomas Jr., Sienna, Anabelle and Oscar Koch; siblings Suzan Corwin, Lawrence Koch and wife D.D., Mary Ann York, Patti Anderson and husband Brad, Kathleen Spatafora and husband Jim, Beth Giordani and husband Frank, Karl Koch and wife Ruth, John Koch and wife Becky; mother and father in law Robert and Teresa Ohman; brothers and sisters in law Kelly Ashbaugh and husband Mark, Danny Ohman and wife Nicolle, David Ohman, Carly Ohman and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers in law Tim Corwin and Jimmy York; paternal grandparents Karl and Gertrude Koch, Sr. and maternal grandparents Carroll and Ann Carroll Watts.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
There will be a mass to celebrate Tom’s life at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with Rev. Bruce Bradley officiating.
Tom will be laid to rest at Plano Mutual Cemetery, Plano, Texas.
